Winterization Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about protecting your sprinkler system before winter

When should I winterize my sprinkler system?

We recommend winterizing your system before the first hard freeze, typically in late November or early December in the Spring/Woodlands area. Don’t wait until temperatures are already dropping — schedule early to ensure availability.

Water left in your irrigation pipes can freeze and expand, causing pipes to crack or burst. This can lead to hundreds or even thousands of dollars in repair costs, plus potential water damage to your landscape.

We use a compressed air blow-out method to force all remaining water out of your pipes, sprinkler heads, and valves. We also inspect and protect backflow preventers and shut down the controller properly.

Most residential winterization services are completed in 30–60 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of your system. Commercial systems may take longer.

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to your system’s main shut-off valve and controller, we can complete the service. We’ll coordinate with you beforehand.
